Discovery of Electricity and Digital revolution.

Humans have been blessed with intelligence and the ability to think and make critical analyses. We have been evolving in all aspects ranging from survival requisites to luxuries, and after a few decades, we adopt these luxuries as life necessities.

One of the huge and life-impacting discoveries that I am writing about is “The Discovery of Electricity and Computers”. We look around, and we observe that all the infrastructures, businesses, luxuries, and even our homes, need electricity. We are the people of contemporary times where without electricity; the concept of a developing world is near impossible. All businesses and workplaces need machinery that runs on electricity.

Have you ever wondered who is this half bald guy on a 100$ bill? If you haven’t, let me tell you he is the electricity guy. No! Not like the one from the Spider-Man movie. Actually, he is Mr. Benjamin Franklin, the discoverer of electricity. He discovered it by giving himself an electric shock to prove his idea right. He did so by flying a kite tied to a metal string amid a storm and thunder. Maybe that’s the reason he is half-bald. That’s irrelevant just leave him to the 100$ note. After Mr. Franklin, electricity became a quite hot topic of research. All the machinery and modernizations that we witness now are the results of the efforts of people like Nikola Tesla, Michael Faraday, James Clerk Maxwell, and Thomas Edison[you can bash me for mentioning Edison as many people do actually bash him online].

Before the invention of computers, there was the use of other things were used for calculations; one of them is the abacus which was only limited to basic arithmetic calculations. As humans have this knack for always creating something that fulfills their purpose and creates ease for them, they came to a solution and founded a computing machine that runs purely on electricity that was called a ‘COMPUTER’. The invention of the very first computer is attributed to Mr. Charles Babbage [You might know him from your school textbooks]. But there was another guy named Alan Turing; he is the father of modern computer sciences and software engineering.

That was all about history but these steps have created such huge ripples in the forthcoming periods for humans. Today, students have unlimited access to knowledge and skills online on the internet, all credits to the Computers and the fuel that runs a computer, Electricity. Without them today we won’t be surfing on World Wide Web and finding ways to educate and make money. Through these discoveries and inventions, we have peeped into the deepest and farthest corners of the visible cosmos totally inexistent to the naked eye. We have created machines that could reduce human effort; the prime example of this is your home appliances.

This digital and scientific revolution has turned our world upside down. Today, We have access to tons of materials to study or for entertainment purposes just a click away. Don't you think it's amazing?
